I agree, but then Skittles would cost a lot more, because they would either have to hire people to count out the number of Skittles, or buy new machines to count out the number of Skittles, both of which would cost the company a shitload of money. And no one is going to start buying Skittles just because they evened out the numbers, so the reward of evening out the numbers for the company is nil, causing them to raise the price to combat the outflow of money being put into counting the number of Skittles. Cool idea, but never gonna happen.
