Personally, I feel like black history month should be considered American history and there fore shouldn't really be separated from that. That goes for the other races too that have a month for their race. Because it is all these races that make up America up and they should be considered as one and not as individuals. However I do feel it is necessary for Americans to be more educated on their history, so they could give each month a different race, so that the people are more aware of each race's history. (This is my solution, since they're probably not going to say, "Oh we're not going to have black history month anymore.")

I agree completely! Separating the history by giving it a different month is just continuing the idea. It was probably very helpful when it was first established but for most places it's no longer necessary. (I only disagreed because I don't think it's sad that it's the shortest month)

Bart police receive a call about some men harassing people on the train, unknown if they're armed. Bart cops pull said men off train. One man, is ACCIDENTALLY shot by one cop because the man is resisting arrest and the cop, in the heat of the moment, mistakes his gun for his taser. Autopsy PROVES man was resisting when shot. Honestly, considering we only have a Hispanic Heritage Month as a month celebrating the history of a race, it's not that sad. I think we should have a Danish history month. Or at least week (or even day). We could all eat Danishes while the people who had ancestors from Denmark could talk about how cool Denmark is!

How many white people do learn about in social studies/history? Like a million. How many blacks? Hispanics? Asians? Like 5. So until we learn about every race that had an integral part in American history not just whites, we need institutions such as Black history month to remind people that this country that we all love living in was built on the back of minorities.
