+460 Why are all the songs today about falling in love, being in love, and breaking up. I mean there are other important things in life, amirite?

I wish I could right a song about how much homework sucks, but I doubt it would sell. It's because "love it deep", "everyone will experience it", yada yada yada. It's all bullcrap.

It's the genre you listen to... Go listen to metal or techno and u hardly get love songs

Are you kiddin me? If you ignore the sound out of metal, most lyrics are cheesy love songs. (to popular songs, that is. I'm sure depressive black metal is more "deep")

Are u joking? MOST metal isn't love songs... I know some bands with 100+ songs and I wouldn't be able to find one love song

Or cheese :D

Dig a little deeper, you'll find songs with meaning eventually.

I prefer something along the lines of "Vicinity of Obscenity".

People discard originality for trends. Rather make money and be popular than write something with actual meaning. I totally agree.

Yeah. Friendship, perhaps.

I think all the music about clubbing, drinking, sex, and booze bother me a lot more.....

"Today"? Are you kidding? Have you never listened to music from the 70s? Or the 50s? Or the 30's? Or the 1800's? Many of those are about love, too. Besides, isn't love what we all aspire for? Doesn't everybody want to find love? That's why people like love songs.
