+351 It's weird thinking that someone who died on 9/11 or the Titanic could've been about to invent a very significant invention but didn't because they died, amirite?

Extra mindfuck - They could have been inventing a bomb, or a terrorist plot of their own.

Yeah, people always try to use this concept as an argument against abortion. Yes, someone who died on 9/11 or on the Titantic or who was aborted could have eventually done something great...but they also could have eventually done something horrible.

Or maybe they were going to invent a time machine ten years later and go back in time and fly the plane into the building, which would stop them from making the time machine in the first place. So if they had stopped themselves from making the time machine that would mean they would never go back in time and prevent the time machine from being built. Crazy!

Milton Hershey (aka founder of Hershey) boarded the Titanic, then off right before it departed for a sudden family emergency. This was before he made the company.

Yes - but this could be said by anyone who has died prematurely, not just people who died in two tragedies.

I heard Seth Macfarlane was scheduled to be on one of the 9/11 flights, but missed it because of a hangover.
