+698 It's pretty interesting how they don't really care about house points in the second through sixth movies of Harry Potter, amirite?

omg no way!! me and my best friend were talking about that saturday!!! haha

I'm pretty sure they did in the books, it's a while since I read any of the books, am I wrong?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They do in the books, but not the movies.

The fifth book, the inquisitorial squad (or whatever umbridge's gang of students was called) could take away points and there was an uproar among the students.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh I meant like they care about Points and stuff, but at the final feast they don't announce who has the most points.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Don't they win like every year after Harry starts?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yah I guess... But I thought that was for quidditch.

If by interesting you mean sad, then yes.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's what I meant.

In the second one during the Mandrake lesson when Hermione earns Gryffindor points they get all excited and Malfoy looks mad.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

One thing I've noticed is that the points seem to gradually lose value as the story goes on. In the start one point is important, but later one point means nothing.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah I was sad that they took that out

To be fair, the House Cup starts to seem a little frivolous with all the spies, asassination attempts, Death Eaters, and Voldemort to contend with; just sayin.

Exactly what I logged in to post. Hermione: Voldemort's returned Ginny: He's assembling his old team and getting new recruits Neville: His spies and assassins could literally be anywhere Luna: Not that he needs spies anymore, seeing how his death eaters have seized control of Hogwarts and the Ministry itself Ron: Bloody git's even figured out how to become unkillable unless we can find 7 random objects which could be anywhere in the world Harry: Can you all just shut the fuck up? I'm trying to figure out how to win more house points than Hufflepuff right now. Yeah, doesn't really work.

hahah that was great =]

I guess it kind of stops mattering. Like, in sixth grade being late to class is REALLY bad but in high school no one cares.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's like that in real school too...in year seven people care about house points/trophies but after that no-one bothers with them.
