+250 Just because Valium and Ritalin are more sociably acceptable than heroin and cocaine doesn’t make them less of a drug, amirite?

Any pharmaceutical is a drug. But some are less harmful than others, which is why they're legal. But they are still controlled.

Hmm, yes. But they do alter the body and mind as much as illegal drugs, especially since the ones I mentioned tend to be misused the most.

You forgot caffeine.

I don't think whether or not they should be abused should be a factor, because pretty much anything can be abused if you're stupid enough. On another note, medications like Ritalin and Aderol affect people who actually have the mental condition far, far less. My brother has ADHD, and his medication is essentially a methamphetamine; when he takes it it actually balances him out, whereas if I took it I would trip balls and be fucked up.

Oxys fuck you up pretty bad too.

Oxy's are only 1 molecule away from being heroin, and some junkies have reported that its actually harder to get off of.

I know. I can't believe some doctors still prescribe it. It's so easy to get hooked on them.

I've met people who are in a continous cycle of heroin, then weaning themselves off it using methadone, and then going back to heroin when trying to quit the methadone.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Methadone turns you into a complete zombie. My boyfriend's dad drives people to the methadone clinic and he said it's just horrible how they waste away doing all that junk that's supposed to "help".

I know right? At clinics in Amsterdam they give junkies a controlled amount of heroin in a CLEAN needle. It is pretty much better to just give them clean heroin than methadone.

I think it's more of a legal issue than a social one...
