It is... I didn't WATCH my grandma die, and I was too young to understand completely, so I'm not sure that counts. But I was holding my guinea pig when she took her last breath, which people could argue wasn't sad, but trie watching an animal die in your arms. :'(

It'd be worse if there was something you could have done to help them but didn't or if it was your fault they died.
