You can't understand why in all these books and t.v shows they try to make families "realistic" by making the husband and wife different races and maybe the kids look like they're adopted, but then when it comes to commercials, there is always one completely Hispanic family...

I don't know why you think that their intent is for "realism", or why you don't think interracial marriage or adoption of other races is realistic. It's not too uncommon.
