+984 Christians: you have never actually hated someone for being gay and you have never tried to convert someone to christianity against their will, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

All of my best friends, including my sister, are gay!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

it really just is the super hardcore christians

by Anonymous 13 years ago

not really....it's the fake christians that do that. we're supposed to hate the sin but love the sinner :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Thats because any Christian that would do that wouldn't be on this site

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Sorry, Flight; that's not true. There's plenty of jesus-fueled hate on this site. For those who agreed; good. =) You're the benign type of christians with whom I can get along. The others are like a cancer, eating away at logic and reason.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Pfft, I'm Christian and I don't shove my beliefs down other peoples throats. We can all believe different things and still get along.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

HA! I would like to see your face if you met my friends Kenny and Casey. Just say "purgatory" and they will jump at each others throats. Kenny is Protestant (Anything other christian religions other than Catholic). Casey is Catholic. Both are Christians.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

not true. I'm not Catholic or Protestant.. I'm evangelical. And non-denominational churches don't always fall under a category.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evangelicalism?wasRedirected=true Evangelical IS a Protestant church. Only if you were a Johav's (?) Witness or some types of Orthodox churches, are you not Protestant. Lutherans, Baptists, Evangelical... Etc are all Protestants.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

you do realize wiki doesnt always have the right info? show me a .org, .edu or .gov site that says that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

http://www.religious-beliefs.com/protestant-religion.htm That's one. Need more? I'd be happy to find more website, or even perhaps email my pastor.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

im not sure if you know what im talking about. by .com i mean the main part of the web address ends in a .com thats not reliable. get a government site (.gov), education site (.edu) or an organization (.org)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes, I understand. Is dictionary.com reliable enough? Just search Protestant. By the way, a .gov or GOVERNMENT site is hardly going to have religious information. Seperation of religion and government...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

really? churches arent organizations? they aren't educational and involved in private schools?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Private schools aren't government run. They are PRIVATE. Google it yourself lazy ass.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

but they are about EDUCATION and ORGANIZATION which means that it will have a .EDU or .ORG website. need an example of one? http://www.cccss.org/

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They are by an organization, not about organization. I understand what it means. I just don't fucking have time to search for one myself.

I was about to click YYA when I had seen "Christians:" :[

It's pretty much heartbreaking when I see other "christians" attacking people for their beliefs or fighting against gay rights and things. It's not our position to keep any human from living their life how they believe, and to do any of these things pegs the rest of us as hot-headed, radical jerks who heavily study the "my-way-or-the-highway" philosophy. It's at the point where I can't even identify myself as a Christian because of the hate from those of other lifestyles.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My grandmother's one of those kinds of Christians. However, my best friends are gay, my close friend is bi, and my friend's mother is a lesbian. I support all four, and I'm a straight, religious Catholic.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The amount of 'YYA's and the comments made me smile. It's nice to know I'm not the only one.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I agree with your username

by Anonymous 13 years ago

But these types of Christians do exist

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm laughing at the people who "No Way'd" this post. At least they're honest?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You can't convert someone "against their will." In the end, it's their choice.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(Your+name+(optional)): People still try.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm Christian. I have at least three atheist friends, and know two gay people (a teachers, and the lead actor in most plays). I could care less what they think. I could care less who they love. It's alright with me.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Also includes Muslims, not every one of them is a terrorist, pedophile, suicide bomber, hater, torturer, rapist, taxi-driver, murderer, oppressor, extremist, radical, racist, mean, or looks like a hairy beast. Goes both ways..

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Christianity teaches us to love people above all else. to hate someone for being gay would be to defy God's most important law. Trying to force Christianity down someone's throat will just make them resent God more. It's not like people actually want to convert though, well not a lot of people. I mean, how many people actually go, "why yes, I would like to become a Christian after years of ignoring God", when a christian talks to them? I can understand why they would be insistant, but if the person you're talking to is getting visibly pissed off, you don't even know them and you bug them constantly, you're just being counterproductive.

@803448 (fangirl12): Exactly the Bible says do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Some people cite this when it's convenient and ignore it when it's not.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm Christian, I don't know how many of my friends are atheists or any other religions because it's not that important, and some of my best friends are gay.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

what makes a book right? in 1,000 yrs twilight might be the new bible. "Edward said this so that must be true *site a passage* SEE!"

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If they can read the book, they can read the sign in the library that says FICTION. Hopefully.
