I never learned how to spell it, or what it meant, but it was the first big word I "knew".

Deoxyribose nucleic acid sure it's three words but they go together :)

Encyclopedia. It doesn't seem big to me anymore, but then, did it ever.

My fourth grade teacher made a big deal about how smart we should feel, knowing as hard a word as photosynthesis. And she was right. It felt awesome.
