+112 Bands that have split up are the best. You won't get any new songs you don't like, ruining the older ones for you, amirite?

But then again you don't get to have future songs that might actually even be better than the older songs...

Just because new songs are bad though, doesn't make old ones worse.

I have to say that when a band breaks up for whatever reason there always seems to be some kinda collaboration come out of it. Example: I love Soundgarden and Rage against the machine. but Audioslave sucks. the two dont work. Same with Stone temple pilots and Guns and roses. Velvot revolver sucks. When two great band join forces and it sucks it discredits the original workings of the past. It always seems to go that way. when Pantera broke up and damage plan formed one fan was so pissed he killed Dimebag. Now they can never be again. Good bands make music because they love it others do it cause they dont know how to do anything else. Look at Alice in chains. No Layne= trash.

and the whole bless the fall vs. escape the fate vs. falling in reverse. ronnie vs. craig.

exactly. Take Underoath for example. There's not a single original member left in that band. I would say that counts as a break up. Now, all you have is a band using a name, they suck. Its not even the same formula. truely a sad thing in music if you ask me.

that's like saying relationships that don't last are the best. Sure, there would possibly more bad experiences to come, but there could be good ones as well, same with songs.
