Non-rhyming poems are just stories with line breaks in weird places, amirite?

It's pathetically annoying... People who don't make sense call themselves poets because they hit 'enter' a few too many times while writing nonsense.

Poems of this nature have been around much longer than keyboards or type-writers.

It wasn't supposed to be THAT literal.

When then I'm sorry if I've offended your ignorance.

You're in a bad mood, and taking it out on the first person you see. My not doing anything wrong got me into an argument. This is the kind of stuff that really annoys, angers, and offends me. (This is the part where you apologize for calling me ignorant and annoying, angering, and offending me.)

I'm sorry for calling you ignorant, but only because there were nicer ways I could have said it. I still think your comment was ill-informed, and it annoys me when people criticize things they don't understand. But that's my problem, and I shouldn't have taken it out on you. I do not think that arguments are a bad thing, however.

Thank you. We have our own opinions.

Poems have to have rhythm, not rhymes. Rhyming is fine, but if you're going to go out of your way trying to rhyme every single word or every other word, you're cliche and boring.

No, not really. A poem is a piece of literature which pays special conscious attention to diction, rhythm and structure (among many other things). Besides that, not all poems tell a linear story.

I was just about to say that not all poems tell stories. Some describe something, such as a feeling/s.
