+238 People who won't eat chicken eggs, but get abortions... there is some contradiction right there, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Before an abortion debate ensues, PRINGLES!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Dang, I think DanielJames won.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't understand the contradiction.

An egg is an unborn chicken. People don't eat eggs because they think its inhumane to kill a baby animal. Then a person goes out and has an abortion. An abortion kills the unborn baby inside the human. The person basically says "I don't kill unborn animals," but then kills an unborn animal, as humans are animals. I hope that cleared that up for you. (=

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh, well that kind of makes sense. Usually the eggs you get at the store are unfertilized though, so it isn't really a baby chicken.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

But they do take the egg out of a chicken... and the people who don't eat the egg don't like that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah, I guess. You aren't really killing anything though.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

to add to supersour_diesel's point, people normally don't eat eggs because they're protesting the inhumane way that chickens are treated and therefore eggs are harvested. They probably think that eating animals is fine, but hanging them upside down and skinning them alive (as would happen in a farming factory) is not. Get it?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

the fact that they wont eat an unfertilized but are willing to kill a fertilized baby just makes the contradiction WORSE.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

There wasn't any contradiction to begin with. OP explained to me what it was supposed to be and it was wrong.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

There are so many holes in this argument. 1. A chicken egg is unfertilized. 2. Humans waste unfertilized eggs all the time, it is called menstruation. 3. MAYBE, I am gonna go out on a limb here, some people just dont like the taste off eggs-like other people dont like broccoli.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

1 and 2, my point is that they are not even killing a baby chicken! They think that its "inhumane." But its not inhumane to kill a baby. #3 Won't is different than doesn't.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Also, one should note that not all abortions are from sick minded criminals that get boners off of killing babies. Sometimes the condoms break or you are raped. Imagine getting raped and having everyone expect you to keep the baby. You should think about your posts before you say them. And by the way, people don't eat eggs because of the cholesterol, not because they think it's killing innocent animals.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

He's talking about vegans, not people with health problems. I would be willing to bet most vegans probably don't have problems with the cholesterol, they have a problem with the fact that it came from a chicken.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well, imagine somebody not of your species eating your egg. Literally. I would be pissed too if I were a chicken

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The eggs we eat are basically the result of a hen having her period... Gross, yes, but certainly not inhumane.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No because it's not fertalised, that egg will never turn into a chicken.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The OP may not have expilicity stated it, but it's implied that he's talking about liberal vegetarians/vegans who refuse to eat eggs (or meat) because they consider it killing an animal, yet they have no problem with abortion because it's a "woman's choice". It's not complex statement, just an observation about the irony in those life choices.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Animals are smarter and more developed than a human fetus.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Chicken eggs aren't an unborn baby. They're pretty much like a girl's period.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yah, thats been clarified. My response was that its worse to get an abortion that to eat a not-even baby chicked.
