+411 Katy Perry's mom said that she was "disgusted" with her "secular" music, yet, if you were Katy Perry's mom or dad, you would be proud of her for "Firework," because its so much better and inspiring than everything else played on the radio, amirite?

It may have good meaning in its lyrics but its my least favorite song other than death metal, it is even sub kesha

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You consider kesha to make actual music? I though it was just annoying club music with talking.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

even so idk but I hate that fireworks song more than kesha

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Kind of weird that both her parents are preachers and her first big song was I Kissed A Girl...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It has a good meaning, but it's disgusting that they put two gay guys kissing in that music video. I mean, seriously?! Take the gay creeps out.

10 points from Gryffindor.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

you don't deserve to be in gryffindor.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They most certainly don't. That is why I took 10 points. ...although that's not harsh enough.. 60 POINTS FROM GRYFFINDOR.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Don't penalize Gryffindors! :(

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Gryffindors who are dishonorable deserve punishment. Oh wow I sound like Snape.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well, if I give you a huge virtual hug, can I earn back the 60 points?! XD

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No. You will have detention with Mr Potter and Mr Weasley tomorrow. </Snape impression>

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well, that's even better. hehe ;)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ms Jaybrene, you are not to have sex with Mr Potter or Mr Weasel.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

...I will settle with foreplay.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

MISS JAYBRENE THESE THINGS ARE NOT TO BE DISCUSSED IN MY POTIONS CLASS. YOUR DETENTION WILL BE WITH ME AND I WILL SEE TO IT THAT PROFESSOR DUMBLEDORE WILL EXPEL YOU FROM HOGWARTS.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I love every single one of you guys right now.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That kiss was like one second in the whole video. And there was nothing wrong with it at all.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I just listened to it for the first time and it's actually pretty okay. She should do more music like this.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's really NOT that good, much less "inspiring". I have heard way better songs than "Firework" It's better than California Gurls, but that doesn't make it good.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I doubt I would find any of that chick's music inspiring.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It has a nice message, but it's not like it's groundbreaking stuff. Anyone could have made such a song. She just sings it to have a hit and make money, she didn't write it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

she actually was one of the writers, but nice researching before you assume things

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh, ONE of them. That makes such a difference. She could have written one word and still be credited as a writer. That doesn't change the fact that it isn't really an inspiration song and isn't anything special.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

this is a song that could really help someone if they're going through a hard time, and I think that her releasing a song like it is admirable.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You seem to have forgotten about California Gurls, and just about every other song she has ever wailed out of her noise tube.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i just don't like katy perry's music. not that there's anything wrong with the meaning of the song firework, but all of her songs sound alike to me.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Back when she was younger, she was really protected by her parents. They knew she had a good voice, so the forced her into. . . Crappy Christian music. I have to say, some Christian music isn't that bad, but Katy's was just horrible. The lyrics were corny and her voice sounded like something from a Barbie movie. (To hear it, search Katy Hudson) So, Katy left her over-protective parents for a life of the California Gurl she is today. And now she's famous. And her parents are pissed.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

She tried really hard to get a record deal with her Christian music, I don't think it was forced so much

by Anonymous 13 years ago

She's horrible live; something her parents should rebuke.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

DEVIL CHILD! DEVIL CHILD!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I would not be proud, that's trash and she probably didn't even write it. Obviously she didn't write the music and the lyrics kinda suck too. It sounds exactly like every popular song right now, nothing to be proud of

by Anonymous 13 years ago

so youre saying that you wouldn't be proud of your own daughter even if you didnt approve of her music?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Seriously?! I GET DETENTION WITH HARRY AND RON?! NO WAY!! :D

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hey Gryfindor, Dumbledore is gay. What of it?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I would be proud of my own daughter for doing what she loved but I wouldn't necessarily like her music and I wouldn't be especially proud of that song

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No I personally don't like her.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't like Firework at all, but I respect her for putting two guys making out in video. It's nice to see someone do something controversial for a cause.
