+88 I just don't get college. How can a book be $200 dollars at the beginning of the semester, but when I sell it back at the end of the semester only worth $20? and then the next semester they sell it used for $100, amirite?

We get international editions in my country which cost about $25 :)

That's not a college issue, it's an economics issue. They know you need the book so they can price it high. When you resell it to them it's not worth as much because newer editions have come out, making your old copy less relevant. They can sell your copy at a lower price secondhand so they'll rebuy it at a low price. If they couldn't expect to turn a profit then they wouldn't bother buying it off you.
