+493 If someone's depressed, then they should start a sport or even just exercise. Exercising makes endorphins, and endorphins make you happy. Though it might not completely cure their depression, they would still become physically fit. It's a win-win, amirite?

What about the depressed cripples?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hmmm...you have a valid point. Ping-pong?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Competitive blinking if they're quadriplegic, competitive clapping/weight-lifting if they're paralyzed from the waist down, obviously~

Depressed people are usually pretty sluggish.

My friend wrote in my science copybook: Dear Jenna, When you are feeling discouraged, look here. You will always get a smile on your face when you read it. Remember: when you smile, your body releases endorphins that automatically make you happier! - Your friendly endorphine <3 My teacher read it today and laughed.

Cool story, bro. Tell it again.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah. What happens if they're depressed because they're cripplingly ill? Or depressed and anorexic?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If they were anorexic wouldn't they be trying to exercise anyway, though? I might be wrong...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Exactly... they don't need to take up a sport/exercise more...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Releases endorphins not makes. Just to clear up.

As Elle Woods from Legally Blonde said, "Exercise gives you endorphins, endorphins make you happy, happy people just don't shoot their husbands, they just don't."

chocolate makes you happy too...so some people might eat chocolate so then theyre happy...but they realize theyre fat so theyre sad again...more chocolate...hopeless loop

Kinda copied my post but w/e....

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Um I was depressed and played a sport that I loved, since the depression I've been thinking about changing sports. Exercising really doesn't change it..in fact, it takes away the little energy you have to do anything

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Legally Blonde, anyone?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Actually, this is quite true. I have depression and whenever im feeling bad my dad makes me go do something. I play a lot of sports as well and I notice I feel better after I get off my ass XD
