Just because I'm not a starving child in a third world country does not mean I cannot feel sad or upset. Just because others have it worse off does not mean others do not suffer. So stop telling me I'm a bad person for being a little upset every once in a while. I'm only human, amirite?
I agree, it's totally okay to get upset about things but if you're going around declaring your life is terrible because you got a B on a test or a guy isn't texting you back, then it's kind of pathetic. You don't earn the rights to go around saying F my life at that point.
one time my jaw was bruised badly in hockey and I was telling my friend about it and she ranted at me about how other people have it worse off and I should be grateful.
it's alright to be unhappy sometimes. it's human nature. it's just about keeping it in perspective, and remaining grateful for what you do have
On the other hand, no matter how obnoxiously annoying it is to lose your $7 lipgloss as soon as you buy it (trust me, I know), it's still going to be a superficial sadness.
i think this is so true. <3
I also hate when your parents are trying to get you to understand how bad something is....Like during the earthquake in Haiti, my dad was like totally exagerating injuries and stuff...Same with when we went to New Orleans last Mardi Gras, they took us to the bad parts of N.O. and then they tried to get us to 'understand the situation'
just cus you tell me about a horrible situation and i don't cry or change my expression doesn't mean i'm not hurt or sad inside....Maybe i just don't know how to react!
I COMPLETELY agree. I used this as a defense when someone told me that I needed "to get over being molested"
SO RIGHT.
