a Melting pot means that we are all combining, which can be good, but also losing different cultural aspects. Tossed salad means that we all work together, but attempt to preserve our original cultures

I'm wondering if you mean that you would prefer to keep races/ethnicities separate, or if you mean that a biracial child should keep both traditions of his parent's cultures. I agree that a "tossed salad" is cool, but I don't think it's really plausible for us to continue being separate when we all live together in the same country with the same media and education.

Eventually cultures and ethnics will assimilate into one core entity. like how the 2nd or 3rd generation of immigrints probably don't even remember their culture/language, or it becomes more distinct. lol, This is pretty interesting though
