+249 Asking someone out in person is so much better, amirite?

Yes, it is. But it's also horribly stressful. To be honest, I'm not sure if I would be mad at someone if they asked me out over IM or something, because I mean, I would totally understand where they're coming from. It's not a sign of them not truly liking you.

Me too. The only time I've asked someone out I went to go ask them in person and got horrible anxiety. I got myself together, went home, and asked them out online. I felt like a loser but I wouldn't feel any different about someone asking me out online than in person.

(First anon) Yeah, definitely. Still, I can also understand the frustration because the guy I like is pretty much only straightforward with me when we talk online. In person, it's all just teasing. And that's fun, but it's also frustrating sometimes. :/

Yeah, totally. Sometimes the removal of face to face contact don't ease someone's anxiety at all. One time a friend texted me to ask if MY friend liked him, and even then it took almost a day of him apologizing for bothering me, etc., to even tell me who this friend was.
