Agreed. I live in South East America, and see no reason for this to be directed to just Northerners.

it's pretty rare for the south (USA) to get snow at all, and when they do it is usually the heavy wet and slushy stuff

... Not really. It didn't snow a lot last year, but when it did it was the awesome crunchy snow. Even though it was only 6-8 inches, it was awesome.
