+300 If "in the beginning was the Word," "the Word was God," and "God created everything through him," and if "God is love," then the entire universe was created from Love. This is a startling thought, amirite?

OBVES THEN LOVE IS FAEK DUN BELIEVE OH AND SO ARE WORDS SO THIS IS ALL FAEK. EVERYTHING IS WRONG AND WE'RE NOT REALLY HERE.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

maybe if you believe in all that. some of us dont. so...not really.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The whole first part were "if" statements used to come to conclusion. The actual opinion is that this conclusion, if true, is startling. Don't turn this to a debate I didn't intend.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

sorry i didnt quite recognize the if at the beginning. i dont really like religious debates, i was just sharing my opinion is all :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Lol it's ok. y

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well of course, because God is love.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes, unless every adult at my church and elementary school lied to me for 10 years.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Wait, what? Are you being sarcastic? What did they say?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No, I'm not being saracstic, I promise. I'm a bit of a Jesus freak actually. But ever since I was little, my teachers and such would always say that God is pure love and all that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What do you mean they lied to you then?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No no, I said *unless* they lied to me.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh lol. That's what confused me. y

by Anonymous 13 years ago

ha, yeah sorry about that. It probably could have been worded better.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

WOOT GOD

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Lol.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You getting religion Rocky?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Am I getting religion? What?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Nevermind

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Indeed, God created the whole universe in love.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't even mean just with love, or loving everything he was doing, but like THROUGH THE POWER of love. Crazy, eh?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Especially considering the state of things today...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

:/

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well, it's true. Most everything's gone to pieces.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Indeed.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It makes sense to say "the word" was/is Jesus. just my two cents :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Indeed, that's what that passage is referring to. y

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The Word, as in Scripture, is God. You can't separate God and His scripture. I believe it's saying that the words we read are a form of God and that scriptures are not man-made, they are God Himself.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

maybe I just don't get but couldn't you leave the "in the beginning was the word and the word was god" out if all you're saying is god created everything, god = love, so love created everything?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's irrelevant. God is many persons; God = Jesus, God= The Father, God= The Holy Spirit..and Yes, God is love. But love is not God, love is not it's own being. So the whole 'love created everything' doesn't really make sense...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No, love is not its own thing. God is love. Not just "God loves;" He IS love. In essence. Everything we think of love nowadays comes from the pure love that is Him.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm a little confused but couldn't you still leave out "in the beginning was the word and the word was god"

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Wow, I clicked onto this, expecting to see a bunch of rude comments and conflicts, but i'm actually pretty happy with what I saw(: God IS love <3

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i think this may be a first :3

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Wait why is it so shocking?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's not so much shocking maybe as it is crazy to think about.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If we were created by God in his image and likeness, why do we kill each other and treat each other so badly? I don't the priest's answer of "Its a mystery" is going to make it these days.
