-92 God didn't create the earth; rather, he supervised the natural forces that created it, amirite?

Where did it all start?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Over there -->

by Anonymous 13 years ago

So it started by my printer?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yes. you'll never look at that printer the same way again.

God: Alright, now move it to the left...little more...no, back to the right a smidge...NO, TOO FAR AGAIN -- I said a "SMIDGE," GOD DAMMIT.

God: Alright, now move it to the left. Now move it to the right. Take it back now ya'll. Charlie Brown.

Now it's time to get funky

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Cha cha, real smooth.

Turn it out.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I love this so much, you just summed up all of my confusion about religion

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's how I always thought of it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes, God simply supervised the natural forces that randomly appeared. If youre gonna say that God existed at all, at least acknowledge that he created the natural forces, because they sure as heck didnt get here on their own.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I like to think of God as a friendly, smiling mentor who watches and guides but lets science do its thing. I think of God as omniscient, but not omnipotent. That's how I reconcile God and natural forces.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I have to respectfully disagree with your opinion. If someone is gonna admit to the presence of God at all, theres no purpose in limiting the notion of how much power he has... if there is so much God can't do, hes really not that much of a God, is he?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I wouldn't expect you to agree with my personal conception of "God," because it doesn't really make sense. It's because I do spiritually feel a God (i.e. a greater force around me) in my life, but I believe that science controls how the world works and unfolds.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Thats an interesting way to think about it, but my belief stands that God is undeniably behind the workings of nature and science, not just the spiritual parts of life.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Just because he didn't explicitly mention that God created the forces, doesn't mean he is trying to belittle God's power...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I know, i get that, but if God didnt have the power to control and/or create nature and science, which is the main driver of life as we know it, what kind of God is he?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Nobody said He doesn't have that power.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The user ender said that God 'watches and guides but lets science do its thing'. He may have meant it in a way that could be interpreted as God did create it and controls it, but I mainly went by the interpretation that science is a separate entity, apart from God's power, which i don't believe.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i'm only speaking for my own beliefs, so i wouldn't generalize about how others are reading into this post.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's not what i'm trying to do, i'm just explaining to him how I interpreted your reply.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Your original comment, however, indicates that the post belittles God's power when it doesn't. But anywho...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm just saying, that the way I interpreted it, his reply does indeed belittle God's power. If he comes back around and says that that's not the way he meant it, ok. But that's how I saw it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

well, he created the natural forces too then...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Deism.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Stop making posts about religion... Us atheists are getting pissed off.
