+247 anyone can fall in love at any age. 16 is not too young to be in love an know what it is, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yes... but I don't think yougins should be shouting "love" for every single week-long relationship that they have. It sort of dilutes the meaning. Yes, I realize that this is a stereotype.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I disagree. 16 year olds only understand lust.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I was 16 and I thought I was "in love," I wasn't. It was pure lust.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I never had, and probably never will. 1/2 of all marriages end in divorce anyway, I'd rather not go through that.

I think that at this age, infatuation is pretty much everyone my age is at.

All sixteen-year-olds should know that it is black and yellow. Anyone who doesn't is living under a rock.

Amen

I think it depends on the maturity level of the people in the relationship. If you say you're in love after a week or even in the first few months then I would have to disagree.

Some girls at this age are just in love with the idea of being in love.

It's really rare be "in love" a sixteen. But that doesn't mean that you can't care for another person deeply and that the relationship can't turn into something more. I swore I was in love at fifteen, but now I see how naive I was.

true, but 16 is too young to bitch and complain about not having a boyfriend, or to take "sexy" pictures, or to give up all respect and dignity to get a boyfriend

by Anonymous 12 years ago

16 is cool but second grade is a bit young.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I fell in love with my boyfriend when I was 12. Don't judge me just because of my age.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I think you can be in love, but its a different sort of love then the kind you'll experience when you're out there in the real world.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I think a large part of them, (myself included when I was a bit younger), think it is love until it's over. Then you wisen up a bit and realize most of those relationships probably weren't "in love". Although I do think you can love a partner without being in love, you probably just really shouldn't throw around the L word at that age though.

Honestly if you have a great relationship and you feel like you're in love, then maybe you are. It has no true definition or exact timing. I don't think people should judge on that stuff. If the kids are happy with their "love", let it be.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I agree. I've said this before on another post like this: I know a 36 year old couple who have been together since they were 12. They're happily married with a child. They always knew they were meant to be together, even at a young age. It is rare, but it's definitely possible for young love to be real and/or to last. Problem is, there are too many tweens/teens claiming to love someone after two days. Then a week later they "love" someone else. That isn't love. If people are mature enough, it doesn't matter whether they're 12 or 16 or 28.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If you took out the first sentence then I would agree with you.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Exactly! 6 year olds don't fall in love

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I think a big difference that a lot of people don't distinguish is that while 16 year olds can fall in love, it's not as deep or strong as the love of people who have experienced more and have been with their partner longer. They're both love, just different kinds.
