It was a Mardi Gras parade or just a parade?

The biggest gay pride parade in Australia is called Mardi Gras. It isn't the same thing as the ones in New Orleans (probably other places, but that was the only one I could think of), although they do share the name, so technically if you go to the Gay Pride Mardi Gras, you have been to a Mardi Gras.
