+561 Computers should not be physically able to give you an error message without telling you what the fuck happened, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha I program applications...this is easier said than done, believe me.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

And in a simple way too. Not just "Error 78564 Registry cannot upload Thingmabob564"

Get a Mac.

nice.

mac sucks.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Probably because you can't afford one.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Probably because i can build a better one for half the price.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

computer users shouldnt be too stupid to figure out "what the fuck happened"

I'm sorry if I'm using the same websites I do everyday and they randomly close due to some error and I don't know why.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

that means its either a problem on your end or a problem on their end. if you can still view other webstites, its probably a problem on their end. simple process of elimination.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No shit it's a problem on their end, but I still want to know what happened. Just because you don't magically know what happened when an unknown error occurs, doesn't mean you're an idiot.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

websites cant go around telling their users why they broke. crackers would be all over that shit

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They do tell you why; those error codes mean something. How do you think techs fix your shit... magic? Do you think they can look at your hardware and just know one of your memory modules went bad or that your new gpu driver isn't compatible with the game you're trying to play? The simple fact is, even if the errors were spelled out instead of numbered, most people still wouldn't have the slightest idea what it meant or how to fix it- and therefore shouldn't be trying. Leave the repairs to people who know wtf they're doing so you don't make it worse. Also, to anyone who thinks macs never have errors- you're sadly mistaken. I work with both all day long.

ive never had a legit mac but back when i had os x running on my pc i would always get a shit load of errors. but most of them were for incompatible hardware so i guess it doesnt really count:/

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It doesn't always give you an error code. That's what this post is about.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Macs do have error messages, but there's are far fewer then (generally crappy) PCs that I've used. Then again I'm sure you get a ton of error messages on a crappy Mac, just like you'd get on a crappy PC and I'm sure you don't get that many error messages on a good PC.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

True, in that case they probably don't count, but people have this silly idea that macs are invulnerable and never have any problems- it's just not true. A well taken care of PC owned by someone computer and internet literate is definitely going to be better off than a mac in the hands of a moron thinking that apple on his case means he can download all the pr0n and various bs he wants with no consequences. It's all hype and propoganda, and some people are more likely to believe it than others... a lot of mac users seem to fall into that group.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

which is why i use linux. all the pr0n i want. no malware/viruses/etc. :D

@All repiles: For the record, I didn't endorse Windows over osx, only PCs over macs. I'm alright with Linux, although I'm not really geeky enough to be super into it. Windows 7 is great, imho. People who say stuff like "you just can't afford a mac" make me LOL... as if having more money is a good reason to waste it. If I had Oprah's money, I'd still be a mofuckin PC for life.
