Plus it was a generally more peaceful time. They weren't as obsessed with technology as we are today. I believe families spent more time together then.

Well, most anything before 2000 was pretty amazing. I mean if I lived in the 1950's my life wouldn't be too hot considering I'm half black, but in general it'd be pretty awesome.

In the 50's I think the general population was becoming more accepting, you know, people weren't so anti-progression. I agree, it would be pretty awesome. :)

Basically what the last few comments said... I don't see what's "cute" about cleaning house all day in a dress and heels because that's all I can do, unless I want to take care of someone's bratty kids or be a secretary. They also still believed the female orgasm was a myth, and "good girls" didn't enjoy sex anyway... so you might go through your whole life married to some guy who humps you for 2 seconds when he wants it, never caring about your feelings... and you're stuck there too. Women just didn't leave their husbands back then because it was too shameful. Basically, the only people having a good time in the 50s were white men, and socially outcast women. Also, the music suuucked.
