The function of pain is to make it so that you avoid further injury of the hurt area so it can heal.

Pain is only how you look at it. It's just like any other feeling, but why do we perceive it as a BAD one?

People walk on coals and lie on beds of nails because they have trained their minds to shut out pain, normally as some part of spiritual beliefs. Deep meditation and incredible mental discipline can actually block pain receptors. It doesn't mean those things don't still hurt; it only means that, in their meditative state, they can't feel it at that moment.
As far as the post goes- who cares? If pain were rainbows and smiley faces, it would still hurt. The only thing we can change is how we deal with it.

I wasnt talking about "blocking it out". Pain is just like any other feeling to me. It doesn't bother me.
