+379 No book, movie, song, show, etc should be banned ever. That's public censorship and it is wrong. I don't care if a book on nazism is published and in store windows, that's free speech and I can read it if I damn well please, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well, there are SOME exceptions. I don't want a book called 'How to Build a Bomb' in store windows. That endangers the society.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Or "Why you should commit suicide"

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Or "How to Become a Serial Master Rapist and Get Away with It"

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Law enforcement could read all of those books and take countermeasures to prevent them from happening.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If it's going to help you get away with it cleanly, it's probably going to make sure there is no way to take countermeasures....

by Anonymous 13 years ago

all of the above comments are exactly why you have free speech until it directly poses a threat to society, like yelling "FIRE!" in a crowded theater.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Wah?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

There's always a way to make countermeasures. Even if that just means increasing awareness about something.

What do you think about censorship?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Be more specific. Do I think they should bleep out lyrics on the radio? Do I think the government should keep some things away from the public?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well since we're talking about books about raping children, I thought you would automatically respond to it that way. Instead of going to all that trouble, why not just ban the book?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh sorry I was kinda tired when I said that. I seriously doubt a book like that would ever get published because no publisher wants to look like they endorse rape. So there would be no need to ban the book. Even if it was published (hypothetically) anyone who bought it could be identified (credit card statements and/or in-store cameras and/or cashier seeing their face) and authorities could check them out.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha yeah probably not... and you're probably right

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Those are all online anyway. There would be no point in censoring them.

SHUT UP NIGGER FAGGOT!!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

this post reminds me of the censorship of huckleberry finn, taking out all of the "niggers" and replacing them with the word "slave." that's just wrong and ignorant, in my opinion. it may not be politically correct by today's standards, but it's part of american history and we need to honor it. softening our nation's history like this is like the whole texas board of education removing thomas jefferson from the history books. it's wrong.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Jay-Z however, can use the word as much as he wants

by Anonymous 13 years ago

To all you that say "how to build a bomb" shouldn't be in store windows...it's nothing you can't find on the Internet. And how to build a nuclear bomb would not be a problem because you need plutonium and uranium and all that. People don't know how to get that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

^ This.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I put my plutonium in your moms uranium last night, I'm pretty sure I caused a nuclear explosion inside her....

i hope the chinese government is watching my screen and reading this right now, let me use facebook and youtube!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

except the book on how to be a pedophile. i saw a yahoo page on it being banned. thank heavens for that!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What about that book about how to get away with being a pedophile? It was an instruction manual for pedos and it was wrong. I'm just saying...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's not quite what it was, it was more of how to control your urges? Not sure....

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No it was a "How to Legally get away with pedophilia" kind of book. It taught you exactly how far you could go without legal repercussions.
