+216 Homeless people are actually a bit like a business man. He advertises his donation box with a catchy sign, or maybe sing a song etc. something to grab everyone's attention. He has competition with other homeless people. He has company alliances, with his friends. This homeless person could very well run a business better then a CEO, he knows that money is important, and not to abuse it. amirite?

If homeless people knew how to spend money wisely, they wouldn't be on the streets in the first place.

well obviously now that they are in the position that they are in, if they were to receive 100 million dollars they probably would spend it a bit more wisely. And agreed, but they have probably learned from their mistakes, and there could be a number of reasons why they are homeless to begin with, not necessarily just because they can't spend money wisely

"Money for beer"

Some people are homeless because they were left overwhelming debts by relatives who have passed away. Not all homeless people were bad with money before they became homeless.

On Oprah they gave a homeless guy $10000 and within a couple months he had wasted it all and was homeless again. I've also seen many homeless people wasting their money on alcohol. My friends dad has a project were he tries to train and employ homeless people to get them of the street. More than 90% of them drop out because they find the work too hard, or steal or spend their money on drugs and get kicked out. Homeless people don't appreciate money as much as you'd think...

They still appreciate the value of money, they aren't just throwing it away or wiping there asses with it, they just aren't spending it the way that they should. Not all homeless people are alcoholics or drug addicts. Sure a fair amount of them are, but people just write the clean ones off as a bad egg anyway. if people spent more time rehabing homeless people before they tried to introduce them to the stress of working, and being a functioning member of society, we might not have as many people dropping out of programs. Homeless people steal because they don't know how long a good thing is gonna last, so they try to get as much of it as they can. it's not them being selfish or stupid, its their survival mode at work.

If only they could apply this business acumen to, you know, business.

yh, I know this post actually does suck. I just realised after making the post that it wasn't as good as I thought, and I am utterly shocked it was homepaged.
