+205 If it came down to a scenario where only you or your unborn baby would live, you'd choose the baby's life over yours, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

it would probably depend. It would be very hard to choose the baby's life over your own.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It would, but in the end I prob would cuz if the baby can live, they have an entire life ahead of them. I just wanted to see people's opinions :P

BWAHAHAHAHA

by Anonymous 13 years ago

depends on how pregnant I am, whether the dad would raise it, and whether the baby was an accident or I really wanted it

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You predicted a riot, and that is what you'll get.

Sure, we'd all like to think that we would make the noble, selfless choice, but how many of us really would? After all, one can always make more babies.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

not always

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If it was some random kid I didn't know, my survival instincts/rationalization would probably take over, even though it's selfish. If it was my own kid, however, I would do it... I don't think I could live with myself afterward.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

well the world will end on 2012... the baby doesnt have that much time to grow up :| so yeah i'd choose my own :D

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I can have more babies; there will never be another me. I mean, it'd be nice to be noble and all, but there'd have to be a 100% guarantee that the baby would survive and my husband would have to agree with my choice.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I hate kids, so I would take every precaution to not get preggers. And even then, if I DID get pregnant, I'm not selfless. I'd like to say I'd choose the baby, I doubt I would.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Honestly, I don't think I would. I would be way too freaked out about knowing that I would die for a child who I wouldn't be able to watch grow up anyway.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Wait...if the mom chooses herself to die how can the unborn baby survive?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

....Unless it was stillborn. That reminds me of a joke. What's 12 inches long, stiff and makes women scream? Crib death.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's awful. I walked in on my dead baby brother from cot death. It's sounds so stupid but I just cried a little :/

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Thank God im male. Hahaha

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You're welcome.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

whyyyyy oh whyyyy can't I post a followup...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Basically, for me it comes down to either ending a life of someone who is already alive, or hoping a ball of cells will end up living a perfect world. I would not end my life for something not alive unless I needed too... Call me selfish, but i'm already alive and the ball of cells aren't really more important than a human.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I sure hope you all realize that the baby couldn't be born if you chose its life because then you would die and it would die.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You do realize that this is hypothetical.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I wouldn't want my child to grow up without a mother. And even though a child isn't just a piece of paper, you can have another child

by Anonymous 13 years ago

But you'd go through life with the guilt that you know you were selfish and killed your own child.
