+471 16-18/21 year olds: If you can't drink, you shouldn't have to pay for an adult's ticket, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

this is why most places have a student rate

I also hate how kids pay for an adult ticket at the movie theater but can't see r or nc/17 rated movies

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Isn't that just bullshit?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I know. You shouldn't pay for an adult ticket if you can't even ser the adult movies

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yeah they should make a price inbetween the child's and adult's for people age 12-16

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ok. So you want to still be considered a child at 18-20 and still have to live with your parents til 21? I didn't think so

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No, i just think that it's ridiculous that they do whatever they can to charge you the most and just change it whenever they please.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's probably the worst logic ever

How so?

being an adult is not defined as being able to drink. being an adult is being able to get places on your own and essentially be independent of your parents, not ruin your brain with pointless alcohol. you can wait until your brain is developed by age 21 and drink, if you're really stupid enough to do so, but they don't want the adults, who are just starting out as adults, ruining their lives so quickly.

I think that's fair enough, (even though the legal drinking age here is 18,) I just don't think they should be able to charge us with an adults ticket.

I'm not sure what "ticket" you're talking about. If you're talking traffic ticket ... it should be higher for kids who get caught DUII. If you're talking movie tickets ... they charge adult prices because you don't have to have someone with you. Children get a discount because they usually have an adult with them - and kids tend to buy more from the snack bar, so the theater makes more money overall.
