I guess you can say it's a general rule, they curse to fuckin' emphasize.

Curse words add to the emotion of the lyrics. Can you imagine rappers going, "Then I killed that stupid butthole! Then I had relations with his wife!...." Of course they can be over used. Just like if a person is angry and complaining all of the time... you're not going to take them as seriously as you would a person who is never angry.
