Actually, many scientists believe that blacks have innate physical advantages over whites. The institution of slavery sought only those with brawn, and only those who were strong enough survived the voyage. Therefore, strength and endurance were needed for survival and may have been passed down through natural selection. Also, black people have melanine and pigmentation, which scientifically gives black people more strength and endurance, as well as a mental edge.

Lack of interest, probably. It's just like African Americans are more interested in sports like basketball and football, instead of baseball, hockey, golf, etc.
