+258 It's really disappointing how one curse word really ruins the entire song, amirite?

Doesn't bother me. Depends on the song though

*shrug* to each his own...as a musician it disappoints me because I think it is disrespectful to the art

How can one swearword ruin a song? In many it just emphasises the passion behind the lyrics.

I find the use of such words distasteful...it takes away from the artistic value of the song

What about RATM Killing in the Name Of? Maybe not the best song in the world, but the swearing really shows how angry they are about the injustice etc. Fair dos if its just to describe sex, but those songs are normally wank anyway.

"Curse words" are just words, I don't understand the big taboo associated with them. What about those specific words makes them so offensive?

by Anonymous 14 years ago

I'm not personally offended by swearing, but I realize that a lot of people are, and so I try to be respectful. I'm sure they have their reasons for not liking it, and just because i don't understand why doesn't necessarily make it dumb. I'm sure I have quirks that people don't understand but respect anyway.

I completely agree. And I don't see any reason to stay away from them. I just use them like any other word.

i feel like if you're cursing just to curse, i don't like it, but sometimes a curse word is the perfect word that describes the situation, person, action etc.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

It's just a word :/, I don't understand all the fucking fuss.

it depends on the genre of music. you cant tell a punk band not to swear it would be agaiinst the whole piont of punk.
