Yes. Once you get into 4th grade ( 9 years old) you start learning English in elementary, but most kids here now a days know a few phrases before that, I was walking and talking English like a pro when I was 11. But basically 99% of Icelanders know English to many extents, those who don't are most likely either infants or really really old people. English is even talked so much that its polluted our language to the point if we forget a word somehow, we just stupidly replace it with the English word but adjusted a bit to make sense in the Icelandic sentence, sorta like the Engrish of the Scandinavians cause other countries around do the same. So yeah you won't have problems with talking English here as everyone will understand, be warned tough that most adults tend to use an extreme Icelandic accent, and learning a few Icelandic words always helps obviously. This longer then I planned to make it but I'm bored.
