I worded that poorly. I am referring to the process of writing the thank you notes, so it is still "is". However, for clarity's sake, I should have probably written, "For how simple thank you notes are, writing them is a pain in the ass."
For someone that got me a present I don't really like and will probably never use, I write, "Thank you a little". For someone that got me a more extravagant gift that I really love, I say, "Thank you a lot".
;)
For how simple it is, breathing is a real pain in the ass, amirite?
Is that your roundabout way of saying that you talk out of your ass?
