+126 The difference between "lay" and "lie" is the same as that between "set" and "sit." You wouldn't say, "I'm gonna go set on that chair," so don't say, "I'm gonna go lay on my bed," amirite?

So how would one go about getting laid in bed?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What makes it confusing is the fact that the past tense conjugation of "lie" is "lay." So you would say "I lay on my bed last night." Although it's correct, it sounds pretty awkward to the ear.
