+251 Everyone complains about taking from the rich and giving to the poor, and how unfair it is, but the fact in the matter is that no, it's not fair, but that doesn't mean that every rich person is a hard-working genious OR that every poor person is a lazy fat ass, amirite?

True, but some people seem to believe that every rich man is some fat, snot-nosed, prick who doesn't deserve any of the money he earned.

My theory is that the playing field needs to be leveled. Rich people have children who are born into a life of privilege, where they have access to the best education, the best resources, and the best job/networking opportunities. People in poverty can't afford to give their kids the best upbringing, and it doesn't help that our country's (US, at least) education system is so terrible, especially in inner cities and poorer neighborhoods. It creates a horrible cycle that's difficult to get out of. This is why taxes and social programs are important (in my opinion)
