Why don't our computer metaphors match up to each other? Sure, files and folders make sense, but we open windows, in which we view the "web" or "net," made up of pages…how does that make sense, amirite?

They aren't metaphors, you're talking about jargon.

They are not. If you can explain the target and source of one I'll be more convinced, but as it stands 'net' and 'page' are both in the computer/technology semantic field ergo they are Jargon.
