+195 Schools are too obsessed with cyber-bullying, unless there is the threat of physical injury the school should back off and let students grow up by themselves. This is not a perfect world, and the school is not always going to be there holding your hand when someone says they don't like you. DEAL WITH IT, amirite?

sure they OBSESS over it, but that doesn't mean they should stay out of it completely. don't you pay attention? tons of teens have committed suicide over things that people say to them over formspring. it's not pointless, they just do it because they don't want to see any suicides.

Not to be a dick, but TONS of kids? A tragic few. But normal people don't kill themselves over things like that; they have preexisting depression and chemical imbalance. A much more efficient way of preventing suicides in students is investing in a school psychiatrist, or maybe they could focus on preventing actual violence.

That is the parent's job not the schools.

I take it the original poster is more than likely one of the bullies. I agree somewhat with what everyone else has said especially jedimaster. However, these days a lot of parents either don't do their jobs leaving it up to the schools, or they believe that their spoiled brat future convict is perfect and does nothing wrong. There is some truth to what 2Infinity, and Tweesaaax3 have said, so until enough time has passed that a real solution presents itself, everyone including schools need to overreach to solve the problem of bulling, not just cyber but all forms. And yes this is coming from someone who had to fight for survival growing up, because no adult wanted to admit that there was a problem. Someone who tries to step back and look at things, from outside their own personal opinion. In order to find a realistic solution.
