+312 The Egyptian people are badass, and it's inspiring to see people taking their land back from a dictator, amirite?

the videos on the news made my heart break :/

Yeah, they're sad. Still, I really like the fact that they're DOING something. It's not at all like 'Murica, where people just act like sheep. It's good stuff, and I'd probably riot with them if I were over there.

To be fair, Murikans already have what the Egyptians want.

True, but would we do the same thing if we were in the same position? It just seems like most of the people I know would just bend over and take it.

I'm not sure that all of us would be willing to march into police fire, but I think that we'd fight like hell to keep it from getting that bad in the first place.

I guess. We're probably also considerably more well-armed.

I feel touched, for some reason. I didn't imagine that people would know what's been going on! But I just want to make it clear that Mubarak decided and declared last night that he won't be running in the September elections. Also, he changed the governement (sp?) and appointed a vice president a few days ago but they haven't had a chance to do anything yet. So that's two of our demands settled. Thanks for the shout out :D

No! Come on! You're going to think better of him just for that lame speech?! He wasn't SUPPOSED to run again anyway! He's done NOTHING and if we accept that then everything that we've worked for will be erased. It's already being erased right NOW - he's attacking the people and suddenly everyone's sucking up to the government again. IMO, this is terrible. I think the protests should have stopped just because people need to get their lives back, especially the poorer people, but attacking them and sending his police as 'Pro-Mubarak Protestors' isn't going to help. That man is corrupt through and through.

Don't get me wrong, I'm completely Anti-Mubarak. I just felt the need to state that stuff.

I heard that the riots were started by radical muslims because the president is christian and blah, blah, blah. could be wrong, but thats what I heard.

Yup completely wrong

I don't know. I'm not sure I want the Egyptians running their own country. Democracies/Republics aren't always a positive; monarchies aren't always a negative.
