I live in China. So yeah, I've seen a lot of pregnant Asians :) But in Chinese culture, they're a lot more protective over pregnant women and babies; in general, for the last month (at least) of the pregnancy, the mother must stay in bed, and it's customary, for the first three months of the baby's life, to keep them inside the house at all times. That part makes no sense because while they're still breastfeeding they have all antibodies they need, meaning they won't get sick, and will just be building up their own immune systems by going outside and being exposed to germs. But nevertheless, that's the way it works, which is why it's VERY rare to ever see a baby younger than 3 months in public in China.
