Lots of models have straps you can tie around your waist for a tighter fit for this purpose. Yes, you'll look like a douchebag, but if your only concern is comfort it's not a big deal.

Exactly, also many models have little buckles on the backpack strap that snap in the front which, although they make you look like a noob, are really helpful in cases like this

I developed a sort of march-run for this purpose. Yes, I look like a nerd whose arch nemesis is physical education, but at least my backpack doesn't flop around. :D

A lot of them have a strap to buckle around your waist. They could add another buckle onto that strap and have a strap that goes from the bottom of the backpack, between your legs, and onto that waist strap. Cinch it up into your crotch and that thing won't move an inch.
