You know someone is hardcore if they do math in pen, amirite?
by Anonymous14 years ago
I do Sudoku in pen. *Flexes*
by Anonymous14 years ago
Thats a real man.
by Anonymous14 years ago
Doesn't everyone? Am I missing something?
by Anonymous14 years ago
Yeah. Pencils.
by Anonymous14 years ago
Yeah, people do math in pencil so they can erase if they make a mistake....
by Anonymous14 years ago
Mostly in America though, where the kids are "special" and make 90% of mistakes on any little bit they write.
by Anonymous14 years ago
You know, I'm getting really annoyed by all these comments about "stupid Americans". You can't judge a whole country by a small amount of people that you've talked to from that country. That would be like me saying that all Germans are Nazis, which they obviously aren't.
by Anonymous14 years ago
Lolno, that's quite the opposite actually. I'm not judging from the few people that I've met that are very clever and all, but from the average scores and many states that I've visited, giving the an appropriate description of the average American.
The test scores are lower with the whole country, and the programme is about 3 years slower than it needs to be.
by Anonymous14 years ago
Ok, so your judging on an average.. that's not as bad, but your still calling Americans stupid based on the stupidity of other Americans. I will agree that there can be some stupid Americans, but you can't call us all stupid because of the ones that brought down our average. Aside from them, there are plenty of very intelligent people in America.
by Anonymous14 years ago
Surely there are intelligent people in America, I never argued that. I argued the educational system which treats all kids just as they do their dumbest -- to be fair. In America they chose to train their kids to use pencil just for that reason, while in other countries the schools don't deem their students quite as dumb and train them to use pens like normal adults.
by Anonymous14 years ago
Intelligence and mistakes are two different things, I'm intelligent and yet I do make a lot of careless mistakes... mistakes come from carelessness for the most part. Making mistakes is human, I'm not American and I have a lot of friends from different countries and I have to say, they all make mistakes.
by Anonymous14 years ago
Thank you, exactly what I was thinking when reading the reply to my comment.
by Anonymous14 years ago
Great minds think alike ;]
by Anonymous14 years ago
Because I definitely said "Omg Americans so dumb they make mistakes and no one else does so pencils lolol idiots."
by Anonymous14 years ago
No... I can't even argue with you. I mean I can explain to you what you said, but I can't understand it for you. Reread your argument if you must. My reply makes sense, that's why IdkWat2put was thinking the same thing....
by Anonymous14 years ago
Oh I understood it. You two aren't at such a level above mine for me not to even understand what you say, and you two thinking/saying both the same thing does not at all make it any more right than my comment. Albert Einstein could've argued two 5-year-olds a whole month that e=mc^2 and he never would've won.
Americans are just "more careless" than people from other nations.
Please.
by Anonymous14 years ago
Well, I do appreciate how big your ego is... kinda reminds me of a certain countries... I'll give you a hint, it starts with America. Anyways, you're no Einstein my friend.
And I don't know what that face means, are you sticking with your "Americans are actually dumber" than other people argument or have you accepted the fact that Americans just might be more apathetic?
by Anonymous14 years ago
What use is making these analogies if silly Americans are just going to take it word for word like they like to do so dearly? "Black people and white people are the equal, like red apples and green apples." "Lol you're wrong people aren't apples dumbass."
Oh apathetic? That's a whole different argument! Sure, the kids are just that, I agree! Everywhere I go, the majority of the population of students couldn't care less about homework or about actually learning the information instead of cheating just to get the points. That doesn't relate at all to making mistakes in Math, though, does it? Maybe explains the bad grades, but not the frequent mistakes.
Elaborate, if you will; I'll be the bigger person and try to understand your side completely.
by Anonymous14 years ago
Ok, I have another one: an atheist child can never convince two catholic children about evolution.
That sounds a tad less offensive, I hope? If you're not religious, of course.
by Anonymous14 years ago
Your argument was kinda extremely confusing. I feel like you're trolling, but I will continue to argue with you, in case anyone in the future has the same questions and ends up reading this argument.
You just said it yourself, everyone just tries to cheat and doesn't care about learning the information.... If you think about all the great civilizations in the past, they all come from necessity. The worse the place you live is, the more civilized the place is. If however the land grows fruits and has clean water and what not, then the people are lazy and carefree. However that doesn't mean they don't have the capacity of learning the things other civilizations have learned. Most people learn, because they must (for survival), few learn for the sake of learning.
If they are cheating, then that means they care about passing the class, but not learning the information... so that still means they are making careless mistakes.
by Anonymous14 years ago
Not only do you sound like an ass, you but sound like an unintelligent arrogant person who believes in generalizing everyone while thinking "they" are better than everyone in every way.
by Anonymous14 years ago
If you want to prove a point, especially one relating to intelligence (and that of your country), it helps to use correct grammar. It's you're, not your. And this clearly isn't one of those careless mistakes because you made it twice.
by Anonymous14 years ago
Umm, that was probably the stupidest thing you could have commented on to make a point, have you looked at your username lately?
by Anonymous14 years ago
It's ironic. Check out my profile.
by Anonymous14 years ago
I did, and maybe it is ironic and you did it on purpose, but then again maybe you made a mistake when creating your account and are just trying to cover it up..
by Anonymous14 years ago
I assure you wholeheartedly that is not the case.
by Anonymous14 years ago
Okay, I'll take your word for it, but I want to know one thing. If people misspelling the wrong you're annoys you so much how can you stand your username?
by Anonymous14 years ago
Wow, I'm hardcore and I didn't even know it... (actually I did know it, but I thought it was for another reason)
by Anonymous14 years ago
my teacher doesn't let me do my math in pen because i am left handed and math smudges are even harder to read than others.
by Anonymous14 years ago
Aweh D:
