Harry Potter keeps saying Voldemort killed Cedric Diggory, but really, it was Peter Pettigrew. amirite?
by Anonymous14 years ago
Maybe, but it's a little odd how often Harry mentions it without clarifying that detail.
by Anonymous14 years ago
Wow
now that you say that I don't think he ever actually says that it was wormtail.
by Anonymous14 years ago
on Voldemort's orders.
by Anonymous14 years ago
Technically speaking, yes, but under Voldemort's evil doing.
by Anonymous14 years ago
it was literally wormtail, despite the fact that voldemort told him to. that's like saying that... that harry didn't destroy any Horcuxes, because Dumbledore's the one who told him to.
but i do totally get what you're saying(:
by Anonymous14 years ago
(me.): But Harry only destroyed one horcrux. Ron, Hermione, Crabbe, Dumbledore himself, Voldemort, and Neville destroyed the rest.
by Anonymous14 years ago
ahhh. he destroyed the Diary, but wasnt there seven horcruxes?

joseph goebbles probably killed no one other than himself and his family. however the atrocities of nazi germany, particularly the holocaust, are often attributed to him...
i agree. harry should make it clear that it was pettigrew that pwned cedric

If he said 'Pettigrew killed Cedric!', everyone would say: 'No, Sirius Black killed Pettigrew~!'
'Sirius Black is innocent!'
'He also betrayed your parents, dude!'
'No, Pettigrew did! You see... "*hours of explanation later*"Oh, and Voldemort is back!"
Therefore it would be more efficient to say 'Voldemort killed Cedric', implying that Voldy is back and also (indirectly) responsible for Cedric's death. And he hasn't proven Black innocent yet.
But yeah, he keeps saying Voldemort when it is Pettigrew, so YYA. :)

Well everyone says "Voldemort killed all these muggles/aurors/mud-bloods," or "Voldemort tortured all these people and wreaked havoc!" But it was usually Death Eaters doing it under His orders.
The same thing applies here. Voldemort yells "Kill the Spare!" so Wormtail does it. So by the wizarding world's logic, Voldemort killed Cedric.
by Anonymous14 years ago
True, but it's kinda like how everyone says "Hitler killed the Jews." Technically, it was the Nazis, but it's just easiesr to say Hitler did it.
by Anonymous14 years ago
it was on Voldemort's orders, and using his wand. Voldy was too weak to have done it, so Pettigrew did his bidding.
it's like. Macbeth killed Duncan, and Banquo, and Macduff's family- but even though he only physically committed the murder of Duncan, he's still credited with all three killings.

"kill the spare"
by Anonymous13 years ago
Oh my god, now that you mention it, I don't think he ever tells anyone that it's really Pettigrew that killed Cedric, not Voldemort. But yeah, I agree that it was kind of Voldemort, because I mean "Kill the spare" and all that makes it Voldemort who killed him, especially that it was with his wand.
Oh my god, somebody please answer and tell me whether ANYONE in the whole of the harry potter books know that it was really Peter. Like hermione, or ron, or sirius or anyone...?
Please
