+55 Math and Science are simply the mediums through which God creates and destroys, amirite?

Takes just as much faith as before. We still must believe in an invisible and undetectable God behind the math and science which our rational minds can understand, without proof.

Exactly. Science and Religion are two things that will never go together.

It is a difficult concept since we see math and science everyday, but think about this - without God (or some form of ultimate reality), how do math and science work in the first place? Especially science. Science is simply observation. With science, the "why" question can never be answered. WHY gravity works. WHY positive and negative charges repel. WHY every principle we've discovered is a principle. I apologize if my point is not clear, again, it is a somewhat difficult dilemma for me to explain.

I like that point of view. And dont worry I think you said it eloquently. Its a more modern take of religion and i think its great many people are embracing it now. Though i do think that you cant really make those claims without understanding that science. I doubt your an expert (no disrespect, neither am I) on the laws of physics (gravity) or Molecular biology chemestry etc. You can always ask 'why' to a statement even when there is nothing left to be answered. Doesnt mean there needs to be any more explaination. Im sure gravity can be explained, so to with charges. But with that philosophy the answer wouldnt matter because even with the most in depth explaination, 'why' can still be asked.

But i guess thats the million dollar question that everyone wants to know. WHY. Personally i think the answer is what you want it to be. We can all make our own meaning for ourselves blah blah blah and you can certainly answer it with god

We can't really know the answer, but that doesn't mean that everyone's answer is right. There is truth out in the universe somewhere that we are incapable of knowing for sure. But it exists whether we believe it or not

Science which his believers do not believe? Science which contradicts the book about him?

Science, the only thing that could have a fair for it and the fair would suck

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Maybe that's not the type of god OP is talking about. There are more definitions out there other than the Christian God, you know.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If by that you mean he destroys me because i have to sit through math and science class then yeah

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That is a very Thoughtful thought you have thunk.

Maybe math and science are laws that God is required to follow.
