+168 There is no evil in the world, only different degrees of selfishness. When someone commits a horrible crime, it just shows how far they can go for their personal satisfaction. When a dictator decides to start a genocide, it just tells us what he can do for power and control, amirite?

so these degrees of selfishness aren't evil?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's morally objectionable behavior. Hence, evil. And some serial killers just like to see victims in pain...

Not everyone has a personal satisfaction. "Some people just want to watch the world burn"

But isn't selfishness evil?

This is just another play on the post about theft. http://www.amirite.net/471847 Nothing original, and nothing that makes sense.

Actually, there IS evil in the world. Yes, selfishness is part of what fuels that evil. But to say that there is no evil in a world as messed up as this is, frankly, bullshit.

Go read To Live by Yu Hua, then come back and tell me you still don't believe in evil. Stupid postmodern.

Unfortunately, there is evil in the world. Some people just want to see others suffer. Been there, done that. (on the recieving end, of course).
