+219 It's weird to think that dogs really have no idea that someday they'll die, amirite?

But how do we know that? We don't, not for sure. We just kind of assume that we are the only sentient species on the earth.

We all know we're going to die eventually. What happens or where we go AFTER we die, obviously nobody knows. But we as humans all know that day will come.

But we have no idea if DOGS know it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes we do. We know that dogs think in the moment. They don't sit and consider their future. They don't wonder what will become of tomorrow.

If you can provide me with undeniable proof that dogs "don't sit and consider their future", then I'll leave this civilized argument, and let you win.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You can't prove that they do... So I don't see where you're going with this.

...Likewise

...alrighty then.

How could anyone know that? it might not seem like it but it is possible that when they are old and sick they can feel that they are dying. Other animals can do it. I can't remember species but there are a few types of those animals who break off from the herd or pack or whatever and live their short life alone when they are ill or injured so they don't slow the other animals down.

What a stupid post... What makes you think you can determine the cognitive perceptions of another animal?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's proven that dogs think in the moment. Dogs has no plan for the future. They think about now and and only now.
