It has been tested and it kinda works both ways. Violent people do like violent video games, but the video games also tend to make nonviolent people more aggressive. Not necessarily "ima go kill someone" violent, but more aggressive none the less.

In some ways, its like a release of their anger. Instead of going out and killing someone, you can just play violent video games and get it out of your system.
