+390 Guys saying "I don't feel comfortable around a gay guy" is like saying that they don't feel comfortable around a straight chick because she likes guys...just because he's gay doesn't mean he's attracted to you. Besides, it's not like he's going to try to rape you or anything, he's well aware that no means no, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's just so annoying when people think that.. just because they like guys doesn't mean they automatically like you.

Unless it's backwards day.

A) Gay guys are nothing like straight chicks. They aren't even the same species. B) How would you know how aware a gay guy is of lack of consent before during sexual intercourse? For all you know, he could negate the rule all together. Homophobe

(Chauncy Pickles): homophoebe* I am probably wrong in assuming your name is Phoebe.

(Chauncy Pickles): I didn't say they were like straight chicks, I said being uncomfortable around gay guys because they like guys is like saying you're uncomfortable around a straight chick because she's attracted to guys...the only thing I said they have in common is the fact that they like guys. The only reason straight guys feel uncomfortable around gay guys is because gay guys are attracted to guys, there are no other reasons that straight guys could feel this way around gay guys. Every straight chick doesn't feel attracted to every guy she comes across, same with gay guys. Just because they're gay doesn't mean they're gonna try to fuck every penis they can possibly come across, would you fuck every female you come across? I didn't think so...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

To answer that question, no, but I'm gay, so...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

A lot of the time when us guys say that, we mean the really flamboyant, over-the-top, queen gays. They make me uncomfortable, at least.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't see why they make you uncomfortable, what could they possibly do to harm or intimidate you to make you feel uncomfortable around them? Please explain

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's not that I feel threatened by them. It's kind of hard to explain, it's not like there is one specific thing about them. I dont have a problem with them nor do I think badly of them, it's just kind of uncomfortable. I can't relate to them at all and... I don't have any real reasons. It's one of those things that just IS.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I agree.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

because..the gay guy has the power to rape you? whereas the chick can rape you, but you would still enjoy it? hahas well that's the obvious answer. because they are deemed as mitfits and deformities? well that's a bad way to say it..let's say... not assimilated into the ideal of society's view?

Real men don't care what society thinks

Sorry Chuck Norris.

Since when do gay guys = straight girls? Never. Guys who don't like gays feel that way because it's a person with the same physicality as them, and guys are supposed to be macho and manly or whatever. Girls are not expected to be macho. The situation is entirely different.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Guys don't have to be macho. Some guys are just naturally....effeminate...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah, and straight guys often tease "effeminate" guys by calling them gay. No, they don't have to be macho, but that is generally how the mind of a straight guy works.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I didn't say they were like straight chicks, I said being uncomfortable around gay guys because they like guys is like saying you're uncomfortable around a straight chick because she's attracted to guys...the only thing I said they have in common is the fact that they like guys.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

But in your post, you say that in a way that would imply that you think "gay guy" and "straight chick" are interchangeable. That is the main issue that I see.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

W@1069171 (Chauncy Pickles): Where does my post imply that they are interchangeable? The only thing I said they have in common is that they like guys. "Guys saying "I don't feel comfortable around a gay guy" is like saying that they don't feel comfortable around a straight chick because she likes guys" BECAUSE SHE LIKES GUYS...I didn't say that a guy being uncomfortable around a gay guy was like saying they're uncomfortable around a straight chick in general, but only for the one thing they have in common, BECAUSE THEY LIKE GUYS. Note: My all caps are not me yelling, I'm just using them for emphasis

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Usually people yell to add emphasis to the message they want to illustrate, but I see your point. You will have to excuse me for reading that portion of your comment as if you were screaming, though. I hadn't reached the note yet.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes, but that is not the only thing they have in common. Gay guys tend to be more feminine than straight guys, therefore even more resembling a girl, but they ARE NOT female. They are physically male, and straight guys see and understand this, but as I said, most guys are generally expected to be macho and manly, by society. That standard is not expected for girls. Simply because they share their sexual preference doesn't mean that guys should feel the same way about a gay guy as they would about a straight girl.

In 7th grade one of my best friends told me she's bisexual and me and my other friend were talking about it and she said "oh my gosh, aren't you afraid that she might like you???" Umm no, guys don't like me so I don't see why girls would

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Not saying that your friend HAS to like you, but a lot of the time guys aren't physically attracted to a girl who is bisexual or a lesbian, but other lesbians/bisexuals are.
